About Our Church

We are a lively group of people from all walks of life whose common desire is to make Jesus known and to see each person live a fulfilled life. We are a Bible-based Church meeting in the North of Bristol

in the 1,300-year-old village of Westbury on Trym.

River of Life is made up of ordinary people whose lives have been changed by Jesus Christ and now desire to make change possible for others. Our Church is not built on the talent of a few but on the effort of all, from the welcome team to the preacher and everything in-between. At River of Life, we are united in the desire to work together to build a Church that will impact the lives of all who attend.

Connect Sessions

These sessions take place as part of our Sunday service. As the name suggests, it’s a question and answer time where we hear the story and have an opportunity to connect with of one of the church members. It can be surprising what you learn.

More Events

Connect Groups

Any group that meets separately from the Sunday service is a Connect/Link Group. Some meet weekly, others meet fortnightly or monthly. These groups are a place where we come together, usually around food or tea and coffee, to enjoy time with friends, build relationships and share our experiences in our walk with God. We have several Connect/Link Groups that meet at different locations – whoever you are, there is a Connect Group for you!

Men's Group

We believe that Christ has called His church to reach men and help them lead powerful, transformed lives. The men at River of Live meet throughout the year at various venues to enjoy a great breakfast and to discuss their faith.

Women's Group

The ladies at River of Life meet fortnightly for a brunch. They discuss scripture, a recent book or listen to a teaching - either live or by DVD.

Social Groups

Fun Bike Ride and Breakfasts

A easy cycle ride followed by a breakfast at a local cafe. It’s a great time for the family and for those who can’t or won’t, you can just show up at the venue.

Family
Meals

As a church family, we enjoy celebrating the life Jesus came to provide. One way we do this is by sharing a meal together. We do this several times throughout the year and it's a great opportunity to invite friends and introduce them to the church. Christmas is an obvious occasion, Summer BBQ’s or picnics are another favourite.
